For what has been a perpetually bland operation, Chicago's Metra roster has become fairy diverse in a hurry. Here, three different faces of the roster lay over in the ex-Rock Island yard in Blue Island, IL on a sleepy Sunday afternoon.
On the left, the 184 is fresh off of its rebuild and is one of the first F40's to wear the "new" paint. The "Winnebago" on the right was from the last batch of units built new in LaGrange.
Motive Power Industries and GMD of Canada have rebuilt the EMD F40PH. These rebuild F40s are slowly fading, but some can be seen in California and Canada.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
