This scene at Wallan shows a great collection of vintage equipment still in revenue service in 2017: A66 is the last serving member of the A class, originally built as B66 in 1952, and extensively rebuilt as an A class in 1985. The PH power van behind the loco is a 1980's conversion of a 1950's louver van. The three 'H' type passenger cars are converted from Harris EMU cars. The Harris sets date back to the 50's, although this particular set (LH32) is made up of later build trailer cars from the early 70's, which are longer than standard H cars. The train is passing the Wallan Distant signal, one of only a handful of semaphores left working in Victoria. And perhaps most surprisingly, the elderly telegraph wires on the right are still in use as part of the 'Double Line Block' safeworking system.
