CNW 205 was built in March 1948 as Chicago Great Western 108C. Merged into CNW in July 1968, the F had an elongated life as traffic growth kept CNW scrambling during the 1970s. This view was taken at Cedar Lake Yard on the westside of Minneapolis and was formerly owned by Minneapolis & St. Louis acquired by CNW in 1960. The former Southern SD24 behind the F was one of a group leased and later purchased by CNW, then de-turbocharged to SD18s.
