Remarks & Notes
Back in 2001 the IMRL was flooded out along the Mississippi River in late April. Heavy snows, and then spring thunderstorm caused the 2nd highest crest in the river's history in many spots north of Dubuque. The IMRL stay far away from the river as they detoured over the UP Spineline from Mason City to KC. Here a KCS bullet train roars south on the Spine as they climb out of Sheffield. The train is seen here on the UP Spineline between Mason City and Iowa Falls.
