A feed train from Kansas City to Mason City is crossing the Maquoketa River just north of Green island. These trains were an agreement between the IC&E and KCS to supply grain trains for chicken feed places in the south on the KCS. Something that was started between the IMRL and KCS. The leader here is the ex-CN 5214, that was wrecked at Crawford, MS, in 1998, then repaired and renumbered to KCS 3143.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
