Remarks & Notes |
UP Senior Manager Heritage Operations and Engineer Ed Dickens gives us a grin from the right hand side of 844 coming through the reverse curves west of Hodge Siding. The Living Legend has UP Train PKCJC2 17 on the drawbar, making its way towards Jefferson City on the UP River Sub. with the "Trek to Tennessee" to open the new Big River Crossing Pedestrian Bridge over the Mississippi River.
We were the only ones at this location after a couple previous attempts at shots were foiled by people all over the place. A people-free shot is always nice on a steam trip, but at the same time it is nice to see so many people from the community come out to see this piece of equipment.
That is after all its purpose.
