The "Creamsicle" eases into the By's at UP Armourdale Yard off The Elevator Lead with NS Train 33J, bound for UP 18th Street Yard after skirting past what's left of Armstrong Yard. The single unit led the train over here from Moberly. It will yard its train here and run light engine back over to NS Avondale Yard later this morning.
The paint scheme was especially appropriate considering today is Halloween. We also chased the INT unit in Missouri and Kansas during our brief pursuit, making this an interstate chase.
This makes 16 out of 20 NS Heritage Units that I've photographed leading trains, and now only 1 that I haven't actually seen in person.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
