Remarks & Notes |
"P&W SD70M-2 at Westchester Ave" P&W SD70M-2 #4301 leads Providence & Worcester CHFP (Cedar Hill/ Fresh Pond) stone train west past the abandoned NYW&B Westchester Ave Station on Amtrak's Hell Gate Line. 4301 is one of two EMD SD70M-2's purchased by P&W from the FEC Railroad and modified to run on the Northeast Corridor. Both engines will soon be painted into G&W colors within the next couple of months. Westchester Ave Station was designed by Cass Gilbert & completed using terra cotta detailing in 1908. Service ceased in 1937, but due to the way the station was constructed, it still remains today, suspended over Amtrak's Hell Gate Line (Northeast Corridor). |
