Remarks & Notes |
Built in 1910, Gary Union Station served the New York Central and the Baltimore & Ohio until the 1950's. It was closed as railroad travel fell out of fashion. The station deteriorated further as the city's steel industry fell apart, and residents of Gary moved away. Today, Amtrak's Wolverine flies past without a pausing to pick up passengers at a once great station. |
