Deep in California's Gold Country lies the old Sierra Railway. Miles from any sign of civilization, this area truly feels like the Wild West. Built in 1897, this track has long been used to shuttle lumber, rock and other industrial products from the motherlode near Sonora to the Santa Fe interchange at Oakdale (now Riverbank). On a perfect March afternoon, Sierra's Fassler Flyer gently strolls along Quigley Creek in a remote section of the Oakdale Branch. Time really seems to stand still out here...
