Remarks & Notes |
WEATHERFORD OK Sept 19 1976 -- Rock Island GP7R 4432 leads a Central Oklahoma Railfan Club fan trip. The train is sitting in Weatherford while the crew and fans have lunch at a local restaurant. The fan trip started in El Reno and proceeded west to Clinton where lunch was planned and the train was turned. For some reason the lunch was not available so the train proceeded on its return trip to El Reno. Weatherford became a hastily arranged lunch stop. Myself and three other railfans had chased the westbound train as far as Weatherford but stopped for lunch and let the train proceed to Clinton. We were pleasantly surprised to see fans entering the restaurant and learned the train was parked just outside. The engineer for this fan trip was Rock Island Engineer and a Oklahoma State Representative Jim Townsend. |
