High above the coal mining city of Fuxin is a man made hill composed of flyash and mine spoil derived from the power stations and the nearby Wulong underground coal mine. Pretty environmentally hazardous waste I should imagine and an "eye-sore" really. But for those of us who love steam trains, there are some marvellous photographic opportunities, especially so at sunset in winter. Taken on 3rd December 2015, an SY locomotive laden with mine waste, slowly makes its way up the incline to dispose the waste. Mining spoil and flyash tipping operations were carried out entirely carried out by steam locomotives at Fuxin until August 2016. North-Western Liaoning Province, People's Republic of China.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
