A Washington-bound MARC train rolls into its station stop at Bowie, Maryland on an April day in 1988. Much has changed over the 29 years since this photo was taken. The MARC AEM-7 fleet is on the verge of retirement, and MARC’s local station stop has been moved about a mile closer to Baltimore, at Bowie State University. The tower on the left has been relocated away from the tracks, and is part of the Huntington Railroad Museum. The track in the foreground is the Conrail (now CSX) Pope’s Creek Subdivision.
