NS U57 approaches Pocket, Virginia on the ex-Southern's St. Charles Branch, on a fall day. U57, stationed out of St. Charles, initially left St. Charles as a light engine move and came to the ex-Interstate Railroad's Andover Yard to swap out motive power. On the return trip to St. Charles, the crew placed empties at several operations in the Pocket area.
