N&W 611 rolls down the former Southern Railway mainline, leading the southbound return portion of an excursion between Spencer, NC and Lynchburg, VA. Behind the auxiliary water car, NS SD40-2 6110 is along for the ride, helping the J to conserve coal on the 300+ mile round trip journey.
