Remarks & Notes |
One of the unit grain train loader on the Iowa Zone is here at Alden. Westbound L571 makes 50 mph as they work west towards Fort Dodge. Nice to see some of the older barns back on the roads. Increase in traffic this winter has alot of stored power back out. This local will do work at Fort Dodge, and then a crew will take it the rest of the way to Sioux City overnight.
The unit in the background is the elevator's unit that was the Williams Bulk Transportation unit (WBT) that was used at Williams, IA, to unload coal trains. The plant was shutdown after the demand for coal went away. This unit was an ex-Crandic Geep. Don't think the unit has seen much use here yet? |
