Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. This was my first trip to Donner Pass, a place I'd dreamt of seeing ever since I was young child, and I get to shoot the rotaries working in sunshine! We use the phrase once in a lifetime a lot...but this time it was apt!
The Norden snowshed complex was a place of legend, and I was in awe to finally be here on a perfect bluebird winter day with a real life breathing rotary set. Here we see the newly rebuilt SPMW207 (blt. 10-26 Alco-Brooks, rblt Relco 2013) at the west portal of the shed bathed in an aroma of steam and smoke. It truly was a religious experience....
