On a cold, windy night in spring, the beams of light from a southbound BNSF baretable train light up the landscape around the right of way in this 7.5 minute exposure, showing the train work from the 5th crossing of the Tehachapi Creek up to tunnel 10 that can be seen illuminated above. The red dotted trail of the train's flashing rear end device(FRED) can be seen quietly bring up the rear. While all that is happening below, the Milky Way above, slowly appears out from behind the pesky clouds that hover over the town of Tehachapi just beyond the hills.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
