Remarks & Notes
A Conrail SW1500 pulls a string of loaded piggyback flats off the trailer loading tracks and past the yard office at Beacon Park Yard in Boston. The yard closed in 2013 as CSX moved intermodal operations out to Worcester, and the land is now being redeveloped.

A classification yard is a railway yard found at some freight train stations, used to separate railway cars on to one of several tracks. From there the cars are sent through a series of switches called a ladder onto the classification tracks.
