Remarks & Notes |
CSXT P930-01 Office Car Special re-enters the Castleton Subdivision. First, after having pulling east onto the Castleton Sub via the River Sub "east wye". It then performed a reverse move westward through the CP-SK interlocking to go from Track 2 to Track 1. Then forward again to be switched from Track 1 onto the Port Subdivision to continue its trip north to Saratoga Springs for the Saratoga Stakes horse racing series. All the while a eastbound manifest waits on the North Departure Track.
Ground crews had to spike all turnouts just prior to and then remove the spikes after OCS movements for regular freight traffic made this a very time consuming maneuver.
Also, this was an unusual OCS move as the lead locomotive was not the usual F40 power CSX has assigned to their OCS' (there were two other OCS' this day in other areas). CSXT #801 also has the distinction of being the first CSX locomotive with inward facing cameras.
