| The Northern Explorer crosses Hobson Bay as it approaches the destination of Auckland's Strand station. Diesel trains are no longer allowed to berth at Auckland Transport's Britomart station. The train commenced running in 2012 and takes 11 hours for the 420 miles/ 680Km from Wellington. |
