I always wondered what the end of a 146-year tradition would look like. Well, this was it; a lone MP15AC serving as a chase engine (to inspect possible third rail damage) and a flashing EOT of the Ringling Bros. Blue Unit. This was the Blue Unit's final journey, yet it was its first journey without a soul on-board. The train that America grew accustomed to with bright lights and smiling faces rolled through dark and lifeless. I think I speak for most when I say that I felt an empty void inside while seeing this train pass, for the truly last time. Thank you Ringling Bros./Barnum and Bailey for all that you've done. Your final farewell was heartbreaking, yet touching. Good luck with any and all future endeavors.
