Departing San Bernardino and climbing the flyover (that carries Metrolink trains from their station across BNSF's yard to the carrier's San Gabriel Subdivision), Metrolink train 357 begins its journey to Los Angeles. This is Metrolink's busiest line, seeing the operation of 38 trains on weekdays, 20 trains on Saturdays and 14 trains on Sundays (such as this April 13, 2014, day) between Los Angeles and San Bernardino. This six-car train is powered by a GMD F59PH leased from the Rosen Beaudin Group (RBRX), and carrying a five-digit road number (18533). This engine was built in 1988 for Toronto's GO Transit (GOT 533), and was later sold for use on a commuter train in Michigan that never got going - Although they did paint this locomotive in an attractive silver, green and blue scheme for the service that never was.
