When that occurred on April 1, 1976, the D&H became owner of twelve former Lehigh Valley GP38-2’s, twenty former Reading GP39-2’s, and twenty brand new lightning stripe GP39-2’s. Here one of each team up to lead a 66-car train out of the west end of Allentown yard.
