“RPPY Incognito” It may look like unit coal, but it’s actually D&H RPPY (Rouses Point, NY to Potomac Yard, VA), symbolled as R403 on CSX, powered by NS C39-8 8605 and NS GP38AC 4113, westbound—main to No. 1—at Rossville interlocking on CSX's Philadelphia Subdivision on September 9, 1989. Interestingly, RPPY’s counterpart, PYRP (CSX R402), was being held on Track 2, perhaps 600 feet behind the camera, waiting for the westbounder to clear the single-track main.
