Southbound New England Central Railroad train 324-13 is seen skirting the edge of Mud Pond in Roxbury, Vermont, with Providence & Worcester (not Portland & Western as the dispatcher - who also dispatches the PNWR - kept referring to the lead unit as) SD70M-2 4302 leading Connecticut Southern SD40-2 3771, NECR SD40T-2 3317, and NECR GP38 3845. The 4302 will head back to the P&W for a short stint before being transferred with sister unit, 4301, to the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad in PA. Conductor Eddie Ferguson gives a friend wave to myself and Gary Knapp as we are serenaded by a chorus of frogs, owls and other night sounds that are only disrupted by the sound of the big EMDs.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
