| The LIRR's normal practice is to route Montauk Branch diesel trains over the Central Branch and Mainline, so as to avoid the more than a dozen local stations on the electrified portion of the Montauk Branch west of Babylon. However, due to major station work in Hicksville, such trains have been routed along the latter. Class unit #500 is seen here with a Jamaica bound train in Lindenhurst. |
