Canadian National train No. 180 is about to enter Brule Tunnel just east of Park Gate, Alberta, on July 12, 2014. The train is ending a trip through Jasper National Park, with the actual border directly on top of the tunnel. The grating across the tracks and fencing is to keep bighorn sheep from entering the tunnel, but as we saw that morning, five of them spent time in the bore and exited when a train approached. Needless to say, the efforts to keep them out don’t work real well.
GE manufactured safety cab locomotives, refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GE_locomotives for a complete list.
