Sometimes, you get really lucky. After hearing that the PR-32 detour had 2 NS units, I almost gave up on finding the real target of the day on Saturday, July 22, 2017: Norfolk Southern Corp 1700. And then a move came northbound through CP Ron. Empty ethanol cars from Motiva in Seawaren, NJ were moved out to make room for a new train by the Conrail duo of NS 1700 (SD45-2, Erie Lackawanna Railway Heritage, ex-Conrail 6654, nee-EL 3669, 11/1972) and CSX 4423 (GP40-2, ex-Conrail 3338, 6/1978). Given the constant changing priorities in railroading, never take for granted how long something will be around to shoot!
