Remarks & Notes
Built out of durable cast-iron this US&S Searchlight Signal has withstood the elements for decades with the ability to switch between three different aspects. Those aspects are red, yellow, and green. Displaying green, it indicates clear track ahead for the next approaching train... Made for viewing from a long distance, the aspect would be nearly impossible to view close-up. So a "deflecting prism" was inserted between the inner and outer doublet lenses on this H-2 style signal to deflect light to solve this issue. The outline of the "prism" is seen here located in the center of the light.

A far cry from the common wedgie ... and particularly well executed.
