Remarks & Notes |
One day we discovered this locomotive sitting in the yard at Mackinaw City. It had recently crossed the Straits of Mackinac aboard the rail ferry CHIEF WAWATAM. It had come all the way from the timber land of northwest U.S. to the tip of the mitt in Michigan accompanied on its long journey by a guardian whose job it was to make sure that all went well with the aging locomotive on its journey eastward. From here, it was headed to the shops of the BOYNE CITY RAILROAD where it would be put into good runnning condition for future operation on the CADILLAC & LAKE CITY RR. |
