Just before sunrise, the conductor and engineer of NS 2548 North inspect their power before departing. The engineer is reaching up to unlatch one of the engine compartment doors on his lead unit, an ex-Conrail SD70. The conductor, meanwhile, is heading down the walkway to unlock the manual brake.
