After coming around the curve on the south end of Bridgeport, AL, (MP J-121.2 NE Bridgeport) Haulage rights train CSX Z360-10 (NS 23N) is on the final 8 rail-miles on the CSX Chattanooga heading toward Stevenson, AL. Once there the intermodal train will diverge from the main 2 track, and on to the single main, and diverge one last time, and get back on the NS Memphis East End, on its way to Sheffield on this segment of the long run to Memphis, TN for the UP. The 9000+ foot long train is being led by a trio of EMD's from three different paint schemes, and two railroads, and what a colorful consist it was!
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
