Steam locomotive 556.0506 is a type of steam locomotive for heavy freight transport, produced in Pilsen Škoda (at the time of production under the name of the races of V. Lenin) in 1951-1958 in the total number of 510 pieces. It is the most perfect freight locomotive of Czechoslovak origin and also the most numerous type of steam locomotive in the Czech Republic. The locomotive was designed for the heaviest freight trains on the main lines across Czechoslovakia. This locomotive has been preserved as a historic machine and is in a state of operability as a museum vehicle. |
