Right place, right time for sure. Just as a 13 car BNSF Railway OCS (3734, ET44C4 leading) was arriving at the Amtrak Chicago Maintenance Facility on Saturday, August 26, 2017, we look above and get an extra treat. The Amtrak City of New Orleans (train 58) is arriving, being lead by P42DC 58 on the St. Charles Air Line! Can't plan a shot like this, just have to be ready! The OCS would leave that Monday for Wisconsin before heading west to Washington State.
Tier IV locomotives are the safest, cleanest, and most fuel efficient locomotives on the rails today. Unfortunately, most of them are ugly and are as quiet as an ACS-64.
