Remarks & Notes |
Wildflowers on the RGS. Early September in Colorado sure seems to bring out the colorful wildflowers. Here's RGS Locomotive #455 (actually D&RGW 463 in disguise) crossing a small wooden trestle, amid a sea of desert flora. This image was captured with the train running westbound (compass northeast....go figure!) at the small trestle at the base of the Whiplash (MP 296.05). The locomotive is indeed in Colorado, but the border is so close that the end of the train is in New Mexico. The yellow flowers are Chamisa and the purple ones are Purple Asters. |
