Skirting the California coast line high above the actual beach, five private cars bring up the markers of today's northbound Coast Starlight. Beginning from the end of the last Amtrak coach, the private cars "Silver Lariat," "Silver Rapids" and "Silver Solarium" all of California Zephyr fame look sharp as they round out the stainless steel consist. Following the "Solarium," the "Evelyn Henry" and "Warren R. Henry" bring up the markers as they cross the 811-foot long span that makes up the original Southern Pacific trestle here.
