| An empty coal train is working down the Big Sandy towards Coal Run. Here the train passes one of the many coal loaders that have gone idle on this Kentucky Coal Branch. Even though coal is down, with the closing of the EK and the Clinchfield as thru routes, the Big Sandy looks as though it's staying busy enough since all the coal traffic has to move north on the Big Sandy to move out of eastern Kentucky. This location is the Tram Yard to the right and Southern Marine Terminal Loader at Ivel to the left. |
