| An empty coal train has pulled into other than main track limits at George on the Coal Run Sub. The crew will cut off 20 coal cars to go load at Scotts Branch Mine. The Coal Run Sub cuts off the Big Sandy Sub at Coal Run Jct., near Big Shoal, and runs 29 miles up into far southeastern Kentucky Coal country to end of track at Simers. It's pretty crazy and sad how many old abandoned coal mines are in these areas. These lines must of been one hell of a coal mainline back in the days! |
