The Jersey 3-Footer
A Pine Creek Railroad excursion departs the station at Allaire State Park on a fine autumn afternoon. The New Jersey Museum of Transportation operates a 3 ft gauge loop of track in the park with an interesting variety of equipment. On this day US Army 25-Tonner 7751 was doing the honors. This unit was built in 1942 and served in Pearl Harbor during World War II. Sister unit 7750 is alive and well at the Hawaiian Railway Society museum in Ewa Beach (Oahu), HI. (click for photo) |
