Remarks & Notes |
During the early February afternoon the rarely catch Geometry train CSX W001-15 is coming over the 1.8% grade of "Seven Mile Hill" just north of Normandy, TN on the CSX Chattanooga Sub. Several day before this Geometry had to go south toward near Atlanta to start the reading of the rails on the Western & Atlantic Sub, than would end it's long journey north to Nashville on the J-Line. The two car train loaded with high-Tech computer which used to test several geometric parameters of the track without obstructing normal railroad operations. Also the train is being led by the only one of it's kind on the CSX Roster a GP40wh-2 which is a dedicated unit for this train. Photo from the C. Bamberg Collection |
