Workin' On The Railroad
Creeping crossing over the NS controlled NS/CSX Diamond at 23rd Street (MP WA-137.3/J-149.9 23rd St.) is the loaded ballast train CSX C025-13 making it's way north on the main one track on the starting point of the CSX Chattanooga Sub. What is often not seen is this ballast track dumping ballast on the main track, which is being controlled by the two MOW crew on the ground with a belt pack control. These guys are doing the "grunt work" walking along side the cars making sure that the bay is dumping the load. This look like the first sign of track work in the near future for this section of railroad. The company owned ballast train will continue is slow trek north to Wauhatchie where the men on the ground will continue the dumping process til they get to the end of their work limits.
