| A DB tilting ICE set approaches Engen forming the 10.04 Stuttgart to Zurich service. These trains replaced the Cisalpino ETR 470 tilting trains which worked through from Milan to Stuttgart but were banned by the DB due to their unreliability. Thus the age old through service was broken as the DB trains could not work into Italy. But the story does not end there as the DB ICE units had to be taken off this route and the service reverted to loco hauled trains using a variety of locos much to the delight of members of RailPictures. |
