“Blue Suits” B947, the Saturday version of the Frederick District Switcher, shown here on the Old Main Line at Frederick Junction, is preparing to spot several ADM covered hoppers at a customer siding on the Frederick Industrial Track (10/19/1991, 09:38).
Happily, by some small miracle, both units, CSXT GP40 6501 (the former B&O 3685) and CSXT GP38 2116 (the former B&O 4816), are still dressed in “B&O Blue”, 5½ years after the first CSX paint scheme debuted, and 19 years after the Chessie System colors first deployed.
The crew needs to clear the single main pronto, because a B&O Railroad Museum-sponsored “Autumn Glory Special”, symbolled P945, is westbound on the OML and fast approaching Frederick Junction.
