Every year in December, the Village of Altamont, New York holds its annual Victorian Holidays Celebration. As a part of this celebration, SMS Rail Services--which operates over the former D&H Albany Main through town--brings a decorated Christmas Train at the end of the Celebration. Here, Matthew Bushart poses for the photo line as the train sits beside the restored former D&H station, now the home of the Altamont Free Library. A big thanks to Matthew, along with William Sternitzke for providing the lighting.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
