Remarks & Notes
Tom Proud a volunteer at Locust Heights and Western Railroad poses on the front of the railroads Mason Climax during a recent night session. LH&WRR Climax A #1 is a home built locomotive based off Climax A blueprints and was built by Keith Mason of Clarksburg, WV in 1974. What started out as a hobby by building a caboose for his children to pay in turned into his own 1:1 model. The 3 foot gauge railroad runs roughly three fourths of mile tackling grades up to 4.5% on the Mason property. The family has run the engine, a couple cars and caboose since and accepts donations to keep it operating. All faculty are either family or volunteers. Sadly, Mr. Mason passed away in 2016. Lighting provided by Walter Scriptunas and Matt Wilson.

Photographs that depict train crews and other railroad employees at work. After all, the trains don't run themselves!
