I know this paint job was unpopular with a lot of fans, but it was my favorite Amtrak-era GG-1 paint scheme. Only 7 units were painted like this, and it added some color on drab days. Although- the 909 is looking a bit rough here, pausing with the Washington Section of the Broadway Limited. The 909 was built by Altoona-GE in July of 1940 as the PRR 4908. |
