Running about 9 hours late due to issues in the coach yards in Chicago and a broken rail on the CSX Indianapolis Subdivision, Amtrak train P050-02, the eastbound "Cardinal", rounds the curve at KC Junction under the soon-to-be replaced CPL signals that stand guard here at the junction of the former L&N mainline to Louisville and Corbin and the former C&O mainline to Huntington. The B&O style CPL's look slightly out of place here at a junction of former L&N and C&O lines. They were installed by CSX in the late 1980's, but, just like their counterparts on former B&O trackage, they too will soon fall.
