Union Pacific’s LJP45 “dirt train” passes through a gap in the rocky cliffs that is also shared with the Price River called Wellington Canyon just east of Wash, Utah, on June 23, 2004. The westbound train is returning from a trip to East Carbon and the desert, passing through this defile to access the Castle Valley and home of the local at Helper. Powering the local this day is Rio Grande EMD SD40T-2 Tunnel Motors Nos. 5349, 5390 and 5371, sandwiching UP SD60M No. 2471.
