While this shot is about a mile from my home I have had a very difficult time adding it to my database of ARR images. First, we just don't run that many trains in the winter on the south end of the RR. Two north and two south for the week if you're lucky. Second trying to time one to arrive at sunrise is that much more difficult. Well today I think I grabbed a shot pretty close to what I envisioned as we see the 4317 glide along Cook Inlet at daybreak. Soon the sun will crest the Kenai and Chugach Mountains and bathe this scene in light giving it an altogether different look.
